On 12th January, I incidentally stooped upon one of the local cable channels which was showing cult classic Mr. INDIA. Coincidently, the date also matched with the death anniversary of its villain – Mogambo (played by Late Shri Amrish Puri).
Now why do I admire him? Man! It takes guts to deliver lines with that devilish instinct knowing the fact those will be beaten (forced) by any stupid dialogue by hero. Every movie at its end will have his dead face and crowds will be happy after he dies. I still can’t figure out what motivation is needed to say ‘yes’ for villain roles. May be somebody wants to take the challenge and say in his grave voice, “ache kaam karke to sab upar uth lete hain, par main bura banke upar utoonga” (everybody can rise by doing good, but I shall rise by being bad).
It reflects attitude and in a way, an adamant route to bring upon success by choosing a hard way…and AG likes that
A tribute from my side…a caricature attempt to generate the mightily evil characters which he played during his glorious career as villain. Hope you can make out - Barrister Indrajeet Chadha (Damini), Mola Ram (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom), Dong (Tehelka), Bhairo Nath (Nagina) and the character which brought him the maximum pleasure – Mogambo (Mr. India).
